ART DECO SOUR
The traditional Sour comes from the mid-19th century and is composed of spirit, citrus, sugar, and egg white. The Art Deco Sour updates the known recipe with a Coalition Rye finished in Margaux wine barrels from Bordeaux and a float of dry red wine. The wine lends its aromatic qualities and deep red color to the drink.
-
2 oz Coalition Whiskey Margaux Barriques
-
1 oz lemon juice, freshly squeezed
-
3/4 oz syrup
-
1 egg white
-
1/2 oz red wine
Add Coalition whiskey, lemon juice, syrup, and egg white into a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Slowly pour the red wine over the back of a spoon so that the wine floats on top of the drink.
